الزعبي تدعو الحكومة لمراجعة وثائق مشروع تطوير البحر الأحمر

العقبة الإخباري- دعت الامين العام لوزارة المياه، السابق، الخبيرة في القطاع المائي، المهندسة ميسون الزعبي، ومن خلال اقتراح على الحكومة، مراجعة وثائق مشروع تطوير البحر الأحمر، مبينة فيه حيثيات المشروع، هذا نصه:

أقترح على الحكومة مراجعة وثائق مشروع تطوير البحر الأحمر، أحد البدائل لمشروعالبحر الأحمر–البحر الميت لعام ٢٠١١. لقد أعلنا عن هذا المشروع وكنا على وشك توقيعاتفاقيتين متزامنتين: الأولى مع شركة سينوهيدرو الصينية لإنشاء محطة تحلية مياهمتكاملة، تشمل إنقاذ البحر الميت، والثانية مع شركة أوراسكوم المصرية لتطوير خمسمدن تمتد من المطار إلى العقبة. كان الهدف من هذه المدن دعم الاقتصاد الأردنيوتمكينه من تحمل تكاليف المشروع، التي كانت منخفضة للغاية مقارنة بالأسعارالحالية. أنصح الحكومة بمراجعة خطط هذه المدن، المتوفرة لدى وزارة المياه والري،ونشرها لجذب مطور عالمي أو إقليمي، بالشراكة مع مطور محلي، لتطوير هذه المدينةالجديدة بكافة خدماتها.

I suggest the government review the documents for the Red Sea Development Project, one of the alternatives to the Red Sea-Dead Sea Project of 2011. We announced this project and were on the verge of signing two simultaneous agreements: one with the Chinese company Sinohydro for a complete desalination plant, including the component of saving the Dead Sea, and the other with the Egyptian company Orascom for the development of five cities from the airport to Aqaba. These cities were intended to support the Jordanian economy and enable it to bear the project‘s costs, which were very low compared to today‘s prices. I advise the government to review the plans for these cities, which are available at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, and to publicize them to attract a global or regional developer, in partnership with a local developer, to develop this new  city with all its services.
